Saturnine Levies by Spielorjh Saturnine Levies by Spielorjh
In 188--, colonial Aetherscaphs reached the furthest sunward they could before the attenuation of the solar wind made it impossible to return. There in the asteroid belt they rescued a crew of Saturnines of the famed ringed planet. Their own ships had penetrated too far sunward and could no longer function in such proximity to the star. They returned with the Colonials to Earth where they sell their martial services as nations can pay, ever hoping to find some way to return home...by whatever means necessary.

Figures are a mix of Games Workshop Tau and Wargames Factory colonial British.

These parts fit together very nicely! They make for a distinguished-looking VSF force.

I'm so happy they helped to make something so cool! That's a whole lot better than them just sitting around in a Ziploc bag indefinitely. :)

If you'd happen to have any more bare Tau heads, arm sets or legs, I'd be happy to make more!

I'll keep an eye out in case there are any at another "game bazaar" locally, but it's pretty rare that I get Tau bitz whenever a trade comes up. Tyranids, Orks, Space Marines (Chaos or Imperial) and Imperial Guardsmen seem to be more popular among those who have bitz up for trade (or are generous enough to give me some in exchange for speed-painting a few minis). You definitely have all the bare Tau heads I had on hand, but I might have some arms. I ended up using up my supply of Tau Fire Warrior legs on some Imperial Guard Beastman conversions for a friend.

Warhammer Fantasy Chaos Beastman heads + 40K Catachan torso, arms and weapons + Tau Fire Warrior legs = IG Beastmen, even if they aren't listed in the codexes anymore. I regret not picking up the old Rogue Trader era "Gaxt" IG Beastman mini -- the one who was actually in uniform, that is, not the lame ones that are just regular fantasy goat-head Beastmen armed with medieval-ish weapons that really just look like Warhammer Fantasy minis rebranded as 40K with no effort at sci-fi touches whatsoever.
